Every one of of our classes is taught by qualified and experienced safety professionals. All in-class training is done at our training facility, located at 260 Osborne Rd. in Loudonville, NY. We also provide the option to have on-site training, where we tailor our courses to your company’s needs.

OSHA 10 Hour Construction Outreach Training

2 Days  - 10 Hours -  $150

This course is designed for all workers in the construction industry, as it covers a wide variety of common construction safety and health topics (the 29 CFR 1926 standards). Participants will be trained to recognize, abate and prevent hazards in the workplace. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and an overview of OSHA standards.

Participants will be issued a temporary certificate (valid for 60 days) and will receive an OSHA Outreach Training card by mail 30-60 days after completing the course. Training cards have no expiration date, however some companies or general contractors may require employees to renew their OSHA 10 certifications every 3-5 years.

 

OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Outreach Training

2 Days  - 10 Hours -  $150 

This course is designed for all workers in general industry (including but not limited to: factories, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, warehousing, chemical plants, oil/gas operations and service). It covers a wide variety of common general industry safety and health topics (the 29 CFR 1910 standards). Participants will be trained to recognize, abate and prevent hazards in the workplace. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and an overview of OSHA standards.

OSHA 30 Hour Construction Outreach Training

4 Days  - 30 Hours -  $495

This course is designed for supervisors, foremen or workers with safety responsibilities in the construction industry. It is an in-depth approach to understanding the common construction safety and health topics (the 29 CFR 1926 standards). Participants will gain extensive knowledge that allows a greater ability to recognize, abate and prevent hazards in the workplace. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and an overview of OSHA standards.

Participants will be issued a temporary certificate (valid for 60 days) and will receive an OSHA Outreach Training card by mail 30-60 days after completing the course. Training cards have no expiration date, however some companies or general contractors may require employees to renew their OSHA 30 certifications every 3-5 years.

 

OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Outreach Training

4 Days  - 30 Hours -  $495

This course is designed for managers, supervisors or workers with safety responsibilities in the general industry setting (including but not limited to: factories, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, warehousing, chemical plants, oil/gas operations and service). It is an in-depth approach to understanding the common general industry safety and health topics (the 29 CFR 1910 standards). Participants will gain extensive knowledge that allows a greater ability to recognize, abate and prevent hazards in the workplace. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and an overview of OSHA standards.

Permit Required Confined Space Awareness Training

1 Day  - 3 Hours -  $95

This course provides participants with a basic awareness of the safety and health hazards associated with permit-required confined space classification and entry. It is an ideal supplement to a company’s confined space training program. Topics covered include: OSHA standards overview, recognition of confined space hazards, identification of permit and non-permit required confined spaces, including the use of instrumentation to evaluate atmospheric hazards, roles and responsibilities of entrants, attendants and supervisors, entry and non-entry rescue requirements, review of written permit, and implementation of a written confined space program on a worksite.

Upon course completion participants will have a basic understanding of confined space hazards, controls and preventive measures. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion and/or card.


Excavation & Trenching Awareness Training

1 Day  - 3 Hours -  $95

This course provides participants with a basic awareness of the safety and health hazards associated with excavation and trenching in the workplace. It is an ideal supplement to a company’s excavation training program.Course topics include understanding and application of definitions relating to the OSHA Excavation Standard, excavation hazards and control measures, basic soil analysis techniques, protective system requirements. Upon course completion, participants will have a basic understanding of the excavation and trenching standard, as well as basic hazard recognition and control with regards to excavations in the workplace. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion and/or card.


Fall Protection Awareness Training

1 Day  - 3 Hours -  $95

This course covers the identification, evaluation, prevention and control of fall hazards in the construction industry. Course topics include identifying, analyzing, and preventing fall hazards utilizing OSHA Fall Protection Standards. At the conclusion of the course, participants will have an awareness level of identifying fall hazards and methods to control and abate the hazards. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion and/or card.


Fire Extinguisher & Fire Safety Awareness Training

1 Day  - 2 Hours -  $95

This course offers a hands on Fire Extinguisher and Fire Safety training taught jointly by Capital Safety Service & Albany Fire Extinguisher. The course covers general awareness training of fire extinguisher use and fire safety will include state of the art fire extinguisher simulation technology. OSHA requires all General Industry and Construction employees to train their employees on the provisions of the OSHA standard and general awareness of fire safety and use of a fire extinguisher (29 CFR 1910.157)(29 CFR 1926.157). If your employees are a part of a fire brigade, or are expected to fight fires as part of their job task, additional training will be necessary. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion and/or card.


First Aid/CPR/AED Training

1 Day  - 6 Hours -  $100

This Adult CRP, AED, & First Aid course covers the National Safety Council curriculum and can be tailored to specialty trades (construction, general industry, etc.). The course emphasizes to employees that their health and well-being is a priority, and it positions the organization as a safer place to work. It is a benefit to the employees to learn the essential skills needed to respond to and lessen the severity of life's everyday medical emergencies. OSHA requires all General Industry and Construction employers that do not have an infirmary, clinic or hospital “in near proximity” to the workplace to provide a person or persons adequately trained to render first aid (29 CFR 1910.151)(29 CFR 1926.50). Upon completion of the course, participants receive a National Safety Council issued certificate and card. The Adult CPR/AED certificate is valid for 2 years & the First Aid certificate is valid for 3 years.


Flagger, Traffic, & Work Zone Safety Training

1 Day  - 3 Hours -  $95

This course provides a basic flagger, traffic and work zone safety overview. Topics include introduction to the MUTCD manual, NYSDOT, USDOT and OSHA requirements, overview of flagging procedures, flagging skills and techniques, work zone traffic safety, and proper use of required equipment. OSHA requires employers to train their employees on the basics of flagging, and work-zone safety to familiarize them with the MUTCD manual (29 CFR 1926.201). Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion and/or card.


Fork Truck, Aerial Lift, Lull (Powered Industrial Truck) Training

1 Day  - 3 Hours -  $95

This course provides a classroom based training on the provisions of the OSHA Power Industrial Truck or Aerial Lift standard. The course covers the safe operation of powered industrial trucks (or aerial lifts), types of vehicles, hazards of the workplace, and general safety requirements. Capital Safety Services will work with your company’s “experienced operator” to assist in delivering the field portions of the training. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion and/or card. The certificate will expire three (3) years from the completion of the course.


HAZARD COMMUNICATION – GLOBAL HARMONIZATION SYSTEM (GHS) AWARENESS TRAINING

Capital Safety Services offers the new Hazard Communication “Global Harmonization” Standard training taught by a qualified safety professional. The course provides an overview of the provisions of the new OSHA standard and how it affects employees. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion and/or card. The certificates expire one (1) year from the completion of the course.

OSHA is unveiling the new Hazard Communication – Global Harmonization System (GHS) 2013-2015. The first provision of the standard is that all employees are trained on the new standard by December 2013. (29 CFR 1910.1200)(29 CFR 1926.59). OSHA also requires employers to retrain employees on Hazard Communication on an annual basis.

OSHA 40/24 Hour HAZWOPER  

4 Days  - 40 Hours -  $695

This course is designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites.The course is comprised of sections covering topics pertaining to workplace hazards associated with Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER). Topics include HAZWOPER regulations, site characterization, toxicology, hazard recognition, personal protective equipment, decontamination, medical surveillance, physical/environmental/health hazards, and emergency procedures.  The course includes hands-on experience and exercises to provide an opportunity to become familiar with equipment and safe practices in a non-hazardous setting. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion and/or card. The OSHA 40 Hour course requires an annual 8 hour refresher.

 

OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher

1 Day  - 8 Hours -  $150

This course meets the requirements outlined in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 for 8 hours of annual refresher training for workers who hold a valid HAZWOPER 24hr or HAZWOPER 40hr training. Topics covered in the training include HAZWOPER regulations, site characterization, toxicology, hazard recognition, personal protective equipment, decontamination, medical surveillance, physical/environmental/health hazards, and emergency procedures. Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive a certificate of completion which is accepted by OSHA as documentation of training.


 Lockout Tagout

1 Day  - 3 Hours -  $95

This course provides participants with information on the importance of energy control programs, procedures, training, audits and methods for controlling hazardous energy, and the knowledge and skills required to safely perform servicing and maintenance activities. Topics include: the employer’s role and responsibility to develop and implement an energy control program, or Lock out/Tag out (LOTO); definitions relative to OSHA’s Control of Hazardous Energy Standard; hazardous energy sources and energy isolation options; written program requirements; training guidelines for authorized and affected employees; how to detect hazardous conditions and implement control measures; the development and implementation of energy control programs, including written isolation procedures; periodic inspection of energy control procedures.
