Noise Monitoring and Area Mapping Services

Noise Monitoring
Capital Safety recently conducted and completed a comprehensive noise survey at a major industrial food manufacturer in upstate New York. The purpose of the survey was to identify and/or distinguish the specific job categories and areas of the facility where OSHA's Occupational Noise Exposure standard (29 CFR 1910.95) is applicable (see below).
The OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) and Action Level (AL) Table outlines the applicable OSHA regulatory limits for 8 hour work shift.
1 Based on an 8-Hour Time Weighted Average (TWA)
The project included the planning and coordination of representatives on-site to take personal-noise samples distributed over numerous departments and 2 shifts as well as the development of a facility-wide representative noise-area map.
